Psalm 14
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. The LORD looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. All have turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread; they never call on the LORD. But there they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous. You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge. Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
Have you ever sat in a class room and been told that there is no God?
Have you ever watched a TV program or movie that makes it seem like if you believe in God you are fool?
Here we see David writing about how the culture around him was turning Godless and how the people were turning into enemies of God. Does this sound familiar to you?
In our culture today, it has become very wicked. Our culture embraces sin as normal and we as the people of God have let some things that God hates, live in our lives But I love what David says at the end that God is present in the company of the righteous. Even when it seems like you are surrounded by evil, God is in your company.
I want to encourage you today, if you are in a public school or judged because of your faith, God is with you. He is standing right with you and no matter what any one says, don’t loose hope. There is a God in heaven who loves you and is there for you.
