Psalm 6
LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am faint; heal me, LORD, for my bones are in agony. My soul is in deep anguish. How long, LORD, how long? Turn, LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. Among the dead no one proclaims your name. Who praises you from the grave? I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes. Away from me, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping. The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer. All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish; they will turn back and suddenly be put to shame.
Have you ever prayed for something over and over and over again?
Have you ever prayed to God and asked Him when are you going to answer my prayers?
Sometimes we can pray for something a million times and we can feel like no one is answering us.
One thing I learned about prayer is this: Some times God says yes, some times God says no and some times God says yes but not now.
There are many times we pray to God, and as soon as we are done saying amen, we see the answer to the prayer. There are many times when we pray for things and ask for things like God is Santa Clause. We can ask with wrong motives or God knows He has something better for us so He says no. Other times God says yes but it’s not His perfect timing for that to be answered.
Where ever you are at with your prayers, understand one thing: God loves you and He has your best interest in mind… even if it’s not what we want. I want to encourage you, when you pray, pray in faith, but pray like Jesus, not my will but your will be done.
