Beyond the open door

I guess the old saying is true, and I don't know who said it...So I can't give them credit..."if you want to walk on water you've got to get out of the boat" How true that is...It takes faith to take that first step! I heard this song a few years back (at the bottom of this post take a listen to it!) and I liked the words..but the last few weeks this song has really become reality! I guess you could say I'm living it! Beyond the open door is where the NEW and FRESH anointing is, it takes faith...

Feel like throwing in the towel?

During a Monday night football game between the Chicago Bears and the New York Giants, one of the announcers observed that Walter Payton, the Bears' running back, had accumulated over nine miles in career rushing yardage. The other announcer remarked, "Yeah, and that's with somebody knocking him down every 4.6 yards!" Walter Payton, the most successful running back ever, knows that everyone --even the very best-- gets knocked down. The key to success is to get up and run again just as...

Faith…You Gotta have it!

There was a story that I once heard...and I found the story on www.christianchallenge.com.. Back on June 30, 1859, a man by the name of Charles Blondin crossed Niagara Falls on a tightrope. He crossed on a 3 inch manila rope stretched 1,100 feet across the falls at a height of 160 feet. Not only that but in the ensuing days he also accomplished these amazing feats while crossing the falls: he executed a backwards somersault, crossed while blindfolded, while pushing a wheelbarrow, on stilts, in...

He Knows

Dear pastor/church leader JESUS HAS NOT FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOU! You might feel forgotten…alone…abandoned…and maybe even like you once heard the voice of God…but for some reason, can’t hear it now… You used to feel like you were close to Him…but ministry has taken away your intimacy/excitement/joy, and You feel like the One who called you is SO far away. So you assume He’s forgotten you…sent you where you are basically to get you out of the way so that He can get to other “important” things....

Indianapolis Colts…Superbowl 2010…They Huddle but don't run a play!

Faithfulness. it seems that most Christians defined faithfulness as how steady they are at their attendance of worship services held at the church building. While I think that coming together as a church family is something that is vitally important...! I do not believe that it should complete our definition of what is faithful. I have come to know many people in my life that make it a point to be at their church at the appointed times throughout the week and yet seem to forget that they are a...

Wally-World-Walking

They say walking brings on labor..So that being the case and now that it has been freezing outside for the past 2 week straight walking laps around Wal-mart has become a nightly event here at the groves household... You know one has no life when you look froward to going and walking laps at the local Wally-world..(not cutting any corners...you walk in the front door, turn left (the only left you will take) go around the outside isle through the "food court" entering the "Cheese/Yogurt/sandwich...

“Forgotten God” by Francis Chan

I just finished “Forgotten God” by Francis Chan. I really enjoyed the book, I then went and I found this review @ theendisforever.comblog (Jordan Muck) I agree with what he is saying about the book... What is Forgotten God? “Francis Chan offers a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Holy Spirit’s direction in our lives. In the name of the Father, the Son, and … the Holy Spirit. We pray in the name of all three, but how often do we live with an awareness of only the...

Fire Fall

God has chosen fire to be the symbol of his presence Throughout history, Revival has always been associated with fire To ask God for Revival is to pray for Fire From Above No one knew how to start a fire like Elijah! I love the fact that Elijah made Ahab a “proposition.” He told old Ahab "Bring all the people to Mount Carmel along with the prophets of Baal & Asherah". So Ahab did it. And when they were gathered up on the mountain, Elijah with a holy boldness urged the people to make a...

I'm glad I know the Healer!

The parable of the rich man asking Jesus what he must do to inherit eternal life. We all know how this story goes. We've heard it before: It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone rich to enter the kingdom of God. Even before Mark tells us, we know that the rich man will turn away grieving because he has just can’t stand the thought of giving up everything he owns. And, if we’re honest, some of us will grieve with him as well—because for many of us, his choice...
